Japanese IYM National Committee will be closed when the IYM Report is published in 2003. The committee will be succeeded to YAMA-NET-JAPAN.

"Yama" denotes "mountain" in Japanese, and YAMA-NET-JAPAN would like to extend their relations to broader areas of organizations and individuals concerned with mountains.

YAMA-NET-JAPAN has its office in the Institute of Mountain Sciences, Shinshu University.
